How I fall for Metacuil Multi-Health Fibre

” Healthy me, happy me” is my slogan for life.

I wonder whether you are reading this article and you are like me, a person who believes in a healthy lifestyle. From my point of view, the core of health is “sensible and balanced”. It’s like being in the middle of a scale, either side is out of balance and you fall off, especially with healthy dietary habits. The epidemic has forced many people to change their lives, and I am no exception. As a result of working at home for long hours, my diet has slowly become more irregular and my food intake has slowly become more monotonous, often consisting of a few slices of toast or suddenly eating a lot of high-calorie food. This was completely against my health preference and had a negative impact on my health. When I went to the doctor for bloating, my GP advised me to consume more dietary fibre to help my bowel movement and she recommended Metamucil to me.

Metamucil is essentially a plant fibre powder derived from Psyllium, a 100% natural ingredient of Psyllium husk, which I understand to be a vegetable substitute. Not only will the dietary fibre powder increase water in the intestinal tract and promote bowel movement, it will also increase the body’s metabolism as you need to drink more water after taking it.Metamucil comes in a total of 3 flavours to choose from, namely orange, berry and lemon. My favourite is the orange flavour, which is tart and sweet and tastes like a creamy version of orange juice. I would consider it as my energy booster, and snack for the break time.

The best time to take it is after meals. Psyllium is rich in both soluble and insoluble fibre, with the soluble fibre helping to eliminate sugars and lipids from the intestinal tract, and the insoluble fibre helping to improve peristalsis. Soluble fibre helps to eliminate sugars and lipids from the intestine, while insoluble fibre helps with bowel movements.

The suggestion for my own dosing is to set the whole cycle to 3 weeks. For the first week, I took it only once a day after dinner. Frankly, there was no significant improvement in the first few days and I still felt bloated after each meal, even though I had eaten very little. Until the sixth day, when the surprise came! The bloating did not come back after meals. So, I increased the number of doses to two in the second week, taking them after lunch and dinner. The noticeable change that I could feel in the second week was that the bowel movements became more regular. In the third week, I increased the number of doses to three, with a glass of Metamucil after breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the surprise in the third week was that my skin looked noticeably better. The problem of large pores on both cheeks had improved and my skin became less oily.

Metamucil 14 days challenge

After three weeks of regimen, the bloating after meals had completely disappeared and I had no more urge to overeat occasionally. At the same time, I purposely stopped taking Metacuil for four weeks to check if my body would become dependent on it, and the result was that it didn’t affect me at all! I was so delighted. But since I have a very limited intake of dietary fibre in my daily diet, yes, I am not a fan of vegetables. So, I decided to take a does of Metacuil every day after dinner to supplement my daily fibre needs. Of course, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a matter of consistency, and I will continue to take Metacuil every day! If you’re experiencing the same kind of sub-optimal health I’ve experienced, why not start by doing Metamucil’s 14-day challenge!
